Christmas Shopping Time!!

I was in Melbourne last week, visited friends and looked for more shops where I can sell my products.

A friend gave me the Christmas pudding so I don't have to bake one this year! In fact my oven has been broken so I couldn't bake one anyway.

I will be at Kirribilli general market this coming Saturday. I will be sharing the stall with a friend who sells plants so please look for a stall which sells plants and Japanese fashion accessories.

Hope weather will catch up! It's been very wet in Sydney.

Kyo Modern: Sylvia Chan

Kyo Modern: Sylvia Chan

Sylvia Chan

Some of my products are available at a boutique clothes store called "Sylvia Chan" in Paddington, Sydney. Please check out the shelf inside the shop.

Sylvia sells formal dresses and accessories. She also does wedding gowns. Don't just look at dresses on display and start thinking "This is not what I'm looking for" or " I like the design but not the colour.." Sylvia can do "anything" so just tell her what you are looking for and she can make/chage it for you!

She did my wedding dress in 2009. We chose 3 different fabrics and she did amazing  hand drawing on my dress!

The price of her dress varies. You will see most of dresses are above $1000, 2000 or more but you will also find dresses  less than $1000 as well.

If you tell her youe price range, she can pull out a suitable dress from her collection or make one for you.

If you are looking for an amazing dress and unique fashion accessories, this is it!

Shelt Massage

I've been busy adding more stocks at My Hair International and Beehive gallery for Christmas. I can't believe it's already November!

I feel like I haven't done much in this year...

Yesterday, I just had a massage at "Shelt Massage" in Surry Hills. The masseur is a Japanese lady and she offers great remedial massage at her place.

She also used heat packs so my muscles were totally relaxed while I was getting massage!

I'd love to go back there next time. If you would like to go, booking is essential.

Please refer to her website on: http://www.sheltmassageclinic.com/

Sakura (Cherry Blossom) festival is coming soon.

It will be held at Cowra Japanese garden in NSW which is about 4 hours drive from Sydney.  The date for this year's festival is from 23 to 26th of September.

I've been meaning to check it out but still haven't done it. I wanted to go with my husband but he is very busy this month and I'm holding a stall at Kirribilli on the day of festival.

Anyone who wish to go, I have attached the website so please refer to it.

Just like any other Japanese outside Japan, I miss Sakura very much!!

Kirribilli Market

I would like to say big thank you to those people who talked to me and bought my products at Kirribilli General Market on the 28th.

I think I prefer general market over fashion market. They are both nice markets but there are larger varieties of stalls at general market which attracts more people.(I think)

I met lots of nice people at the market this time so it was really fun!! Everytime I held a stall at a market, I always learn something new.

For both my website and stall at market, there are a lot to improve....I have lots of passion in what I'm doing so I will continue to improve and try to increase awareness of products from Kyoto!!

Once I finish with re-designing my catalogue, I will start contacting stores in Sydney again.

Hopefully I will have some luck........!

New bags

Spring is just around the corner and it's less than half a year before the Christmas. Yay!

After what people at Kirribilli market requested to me, I decided to have more hand bags in my range.

So far, I got "Tomesode" bags, Tomesode pouches and Nishijin silk Obi bags.

I'm waiting for Gamaguchi bag medium and large to arrive from Kyoto by the end of this month.

Tomesode is kind of Kimono which is for married woman. Therefore it is often worn by female relatives of a bride or groom at a wedding.

More information is available on:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomesode

I'm selling Tomesode and Nishijin Silk Obi bags at North Sydney Market tomorrow (14th AUG).'

Hopefully people like it!

At Kirribilli market today

I thought I did pretty ok for the first time at the market today.

I was hoping to sell more but had to leave early due to rain. I knew there was going to be showers in the afternoon but I was hoping for cloudy sky instead.

I'm definitely getting a tent next time!! Buying a tent doesn't seem to be cheap. I wonder if I can lent it from somewhere?

I wasn't very good with explaining about fabrics that are used my products. I could have explained in depth but thought people may not be interested in so much.

What makes me difference from other suppliers of Japanese fashion accessories and gifts is Nishijin fabric.

Next time, I will display the brief description of all the fabrics, print it out on A4 size paper and display it on a table!

I will try to join Kirribilli fashion market for August as well. I will do my best to do it better than this time.

For those people who talked to me and purchased products, thank you very much!!

Kirribilli Market tomorrow

I will be holding a stall at the location I-3. It's gravel area, not the green area.

If some of permanent stall holder call in sick, their location will be given to casual stall holders so I'm sort of hoping that to happen..(probably unlikely) In this way, I don't have to worry about rain!

Looks like it's going to rain tomorrow from the afternoon. I don't have a tent so if it does rain, I will cover my products with vinyl cover and use umbrella for myself...

I hope to see some people looking at my products tomorrow!

Kirribilli fashion market on the 11st of July

I will be holding a stall at Kirribilli market on this Sunday from 9am to 3pm.

It's my first time to hold a stall so I have no idea if people might be interested in my products or not.

I love what I offer so hopefully many people will like it too!

I will be selling as many products as I can display on the table and also second hand clothes on the side. I'm curious to know how many people will purchase new Chirimen Gamaguchi. (A photo above) They come in many different colours!

And I hope to make sales of Nishijin Gamaguchi too. It's made of silk which is only available in my town Kyoto in Japan.

Please look for a stall with lots of Gamaguchi, pouches and bright Teddy Bears. I will be displaying my business card as well.

See you on Sunday!

Love towards fashion accessories and gifts from my town

Everytime I called up or walked into stores to see if they were interested in selling my products, I was often asked if I made the products.

And I always felt bit embarrassed to say no, it's not made by me.

But finally I realised I shouldn't feel that way.

I import my products from my town Kyoto in Japan and sell it hear. Most of them are handmade and some of them are machine made.

I wish I could make it but first of all, I'm not handy.

Secondly, my products are made by very skilled people in Kyoto so I won't be able to make it anyway unless I trained myself for over 10 years.

I should believe in what I sell and hopefully people will like it.

I have changed what I sell at Beehive gallery in Newtown and also at Sylvia Chan in Paddington. I'll be at the next Kirribilli market on the 11th of July.

Hope to meet lots of people at the market!!

What is Nishijin fabric?

Lots of my accessories are made from Nishijin fabric.

Nishijin fabric is only available in Kyoto, Japan.

It originated more than 1000 years ago. The fabric is made from silk but the way it is woven is different to Chirimen silk - the thread is dyed before it is woven. As a result, colours come out richer than Chirimen.
